Mentee FAQs

What Is Expected Of Me As A Mentee During The Program?

The ILF Alumni Mentor Program is designed to connect alumni, who are looking to volunteer their time and to share their expertise with current ILF students. You will be paired with a graduate of the ILF for the academic year 2020/21. We encourage mentors and mentees to communicate and connect regularly with a monthly phone call, Zoom meeting or in person get-together should you be located in Frankfurt. You can set the means and frequency of communication to suit both schedules.

Please DO NOT ask your mentor for a job or internship during this period. This program is about building your professional network and gaining academic and career advice. For both LL.M. programs please discuss internships with Ms. Heidi Quoika our Course and Internship Manager, regarding opportunities during the academic year.

How Long Will I Be A Mentee?

The initial run for the academic year 2020/21 will be 5 months, November – March. You may keep in touch with your mentor beyond the set date, should you both wish; this will be out with of the fixed program.

No, not necessarily. We have a number of mentors living across the globe so you may be paired with someone not in Germany or Europe. Our alumni are incredibly diverse and international.
